Nor do I, but given the lack of interest from KBC on a fantasy baseball league, maybe the randoms will have to work...

I have my first Fantasy Baseball draft tomorrow at 6 and I'm picking 3, mulling over who to take....

Have the Tigers announced whether or not Miggy will start the season?

If not him, I would definitely say either Hanley Ramirez or toss-up between Crawford/Gonzalez. Can't go wrong with either one of the Red Sox stars at any point.

I took Tulowitzki, ended up getting Crawford in the 3rd!

Here's my first draft of the season:
Thomes Mashed Taters
1. (3) Troy Tulowitzki (Col - SS)
2. (18) Ryan Howard (Phi - 1B)
3. (23) Carl Crawford (Bos - OF)
4. (38) Zack Greinke (Mil - SP)
5. (43) Chase Utley (Phi - 2B)
6. (58) Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
7. (63) Tommy Hanson (Atl - SP)
8. (78) Carlos Santana (Cle - C)
9. (83) Francisco Liriano (Min - SP)
10. (98) Joe Nathan (Min - RP)
11. (103) Pedro Alvarez (Pit - 3B)
12. (118) Heath Bell (SD - RP)
13. (123) Yovani Gallardo (Mil - SP)
14. (138) Shane Victorino (Phi - OF)
15. (143) Jake Peavy (CWS - SP)
16. (158) Jason Kubel (Min - OF)
17. (163) Denard Span (Min - OF)
18. (178) Max Scherzer (Det - SP)
19. (183) Gaby Sánchez (Fla - 1B)
20. (198) Kurt Suzuki (Oak - C)
21. (203) J.J. Putz (Ari - RP)
22. (218) Billy Butler (KC - 1B)
23. (223) Danny Valencia (Min - 3B)
24. (238) Starlin Castro (ChC - SS)
25. (243) Neil Walker (Pit - 2B,3B)

I'm dumping Suzuki and Castro for better hitting guys to play as Utility guys.

Is Nathan going to be closing in Minny this year? I thought they still had Capps.

you drafted a SS first : /
that's crazy.

There aren't many good SS's and Hanley and Troy are the majority source of both the Marlins and Rockies' offense. So whenever you see points scored from either team, 75-80% of the time they were the ones who did it.

yeah i know about hanely he is a beast but I think i would rather wait for the low end of the 1st tier or the 2nd tier SS's. Jose Reyes, Rollins, etc.

I haven't even started lookin at info yet haha

Rollins is an injury concern

and Yeah, Nathan will be closing with Matty Capps being the setup guy...

If the twins can take a lead in to the 8th, we should be good.

Rollins isn't that great outside of Stolen Bases and Reyes has been hurt the last couple of years.

I don't reach for SS's unless it's Hanley or Troy. Besides, every year there is one that comes along on the waiver wire who ends up being a pleasant surprise (Jason Bartlett, Elvis Andrus, Alexei Ramirez;etc)

Drew Stubbs is a sleeper this year 4 real.

Dude's gonna be Cincy's lead-off hitter and he'll be followed by BP and Votto. Plus, he has improved every year on stolen bases and batting average. I think he's got crazy potential to be a good late round steal.

The league you're in are clearly fucking idiots. Drafting Howard in the 2nd was beyond retarded too however but letting Crawford fall to R.3 and Scherzer to 18???? Fucking morons

Scherzer is too hot and cold. Doesn't surprise me that he dropped that low.

Scherzer will likely be on the waiver wire more than once.

I figured I'd like to have another SP to flex in and out of one of my P spots... I don't like wasting the P Spot on a reliever.

depends on the reliever and depends what stats you are looking for. not sure how your league is but its hard to find a good guy like that on the wire

I picked up Mike Leake on the waiver last year and he was solid

....for about a month until Dusty decided to throw him into the pit of young pitchers whose career he has destroyed..
