Sleep Machine
Since I can't actually blog, and I'm scared to use facebook/twitter much since they're watched, I'm gonna molest this forum=\

So I have "This Tool Kills Hate" written across the buttstock of my 416 in silver. It's a reference to Wayne Kramer of the MC5:

An activist in Detroit, great guitarist and all around awesome guy. That was written on his stratocaster back in the day.

Well, I got a stern talking to about how that sends the wrong message and need to remove it immediately. Now without sayinf what I have or have not done with this weapon, I fail to see a problem. Is hate soething we want to preserve? Are our weapons required to be PC now? Because some of the other guys in the unit have such great messages as "I wish a Mother Fucker Would", "OHAITHASMAIBULLETNURCHESTSRY<3" and "كافر"(kāfir or infidel); but those aren't problems. sigh.

I care.

Thats an awesome quote. Why do they let people write on their weapons in the first place, wouldnt that be asking for trouble?
That sucks that they want you to take it off though. I dont agree with them, but I think I understand their line of thinking. Maybe. I probably dont.

Btw I gis that gun, holy crap.

Aw ♥

They encourage us to personalize our weapon because unlike a normal fleet sailor who would be issued their weapon from the armory when needed and return it when done, we hold our weapons 24/7. Some people paint them in different camo schemes, use different sights and attachments, change barrel lengths, etc as tactically permitted. I use an M27 with a 505mm barrell, eotech 553, knight's armament foregrip and Pelican 630 taclight.

RE: No One Cares About Any of This
So, mud.

It's the rainy season here in Iraq and that means mud, mud fucking everywhere. And my goddamn chu sprung a leak in the ceiling. Fucking awesome. The upside is that I get to mud pretty much everywhere. This place pretty much gives you license to drive likea fucking madman(no axe). But at the same time, it's MUDCON yellow. Meaning I have to carry two pair of shoes everywhere(annoying) and anytime I have to drive near a flightline, I have to pressure wash my vehicle(aggravating). So everytime I want to go to the gym, and the one I got to is on the airforce compound, I have to get in ACU's, throw on patches(our unis are usually sanitized), grab two pair of shoes, pressure wash the truck and then reverse the process. It's whatever.

We took my grandmother and Sarah out to dinner tonight.
Almost pissed in my seat when the words "Probably just a pussy stop" came out of my grandmothers mouth.

Yeah and after that I almost ended up slamming my face into a plate of mashed potatoes because I was going beat my head against the table when my grandmother loudly stated that some girl was "Doing Micheal, the guy who looks like a mexican but isnt really a mexican." and followed up with calling someone a Sonofabitch.

RE: Camp Anaconda, I Hold You In My Heart
So...Operation New Dawn.

Operation New Dawn is an incredible thing we are doing right now. So many reconstruction teams out there building schools and hospitals and vaccinating kids and all kinds of great things. I wish it got the publicity that OIF(Operation Iraqi Freedom) did, but it's a noncombat mission, so I guess there's nothing great or juicy to say. I just think it would be great PR if people knew what we are doing.

I say we, but really I mean they. The Army, Navy and Air Force that are boots on the ground out there every day. There's really no place for special warfare in a noncombat mission. Our role is combat of the ugliest type, So since our last little jaunt got spoiled by facebook, there is literally nothing for us to do. We're holed up in the secret squirrel compound here at JBB waiting on...something. So far I have completed Rescue Me up to season 6 and Bullshit to season 8 and just started Mad Men. All on the taxpayer's dollar.

Its begining to irritate me more and more that they dont report on those sorts of things.

I'd rather tax money pay for you to watch tv than put you in dangerous situations.

Thanks ♥ But I'm realistic. It's my job to be put in dangerous situations. I took the $75,000 to go specwar, so I should be in the shit if I'm deployed. And if I'm not, why am I deployed? I can do fuck all at home no problem.

No, I'm in the Navy. Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman Second Class to be precise. I with a Combined Joint Special Forces Task Force out of Camp Anaconda, Iraq right now. And it's cool not having shit to do, but I feel if I'm not doing anything I should be at home. We did some awesome stuff late last year in Afghanistan and even had a cool trip to Germany to do some stuff with their special forces, but the last few weeks, nothing.

If I'm here, I want to be doing something. And yeah, $75k is the bonus for completing the specwar pipeline. It's only $37,500 up front though, you get the rest in installments throughout your contract. I get $8k every October 1st. It's to keep people form taking the money and running I guess.

RE: Camp Anaconda, I Hold You In My Heart
So in the Navy, you have to periodically do this thing called Perform to Serve(PTS). Essentially you submit you career info, medical info, PRT(physical readiness test) scores, evaluations and all other pertinent info and Big Navy reviews it and decides if yoj are better used elsewhere, either due to poor performance in your rate, skillsets that could better be used elsewhere, or you just need to be discharged immediately. My latest came back yesterday and I have been rolled over to next month. My detailer wants to know if I want to crossrate and become either an SO, IS or CT. IS and CT don't interest me at all. they are, for all intents and purposes, hackers and spies. I

Ss are Intelligence Specialists, they gather info by any means necessary and disseminate it down to wherever they feel it can best be used, a great pickup line but boring job. It means chatting up a million motherfuckers and digging through trash trying to put together whatever you can to use.

CTs are hackers essentially. Cryptological Technicians, they do a few things, they try to penetrate and gleam whatever they can through hostile networks and they fortify and attack our own networks to try make them as secure as possible. That means one thing to me, sitting at a computer crunching numbers all day, every day. FUCK THAT.

So my third option if I want to take it, is go full blown SEAL. I honestly don't know if I have it in me. Yes, I'm special warfare and yes I went through crazy training. I've worked with SEALs in and out of hostile areas for years, but havent seen the worst of what they do, nor do I have their training. So I don't know...

Ideally, I want to stay SWCC. But if Big Navy wants, they can change me=\
