2016 Presidential Campaign Thread
#1
Starting with Iowa tonight!

Cruz wins Iowa, trouncing Trump who still might slip to 3rd place before the night ends.

Hillary/Sanders still "too close to call" but looking like Hillary will win by a cunt hair.

O'Malley suspends campaign.

Huckabee suspends campaign.

You know why I think Caucuses are a handicap for Trump? because only Trump can make Trump look good, when other people talk about him they seem to make him look like a jackass, and the better part of these things is a representative talking about their candidate before the actual candidate comes out.

Yeah Cruz has the most punchable fact this side of that AIDS pill/Wu-Tang dude.

I'd hug his daughter right in the ass. If you know what I mean. And I think you do.

Why? Mitt Romney was 3rd to Santorum and Paul last time. All this does is tell the 1%ers to drop out.

Clinton voter fraud is being alleged.

Let's go Kasich! (Kasich sucks!)

King Ted is the scariest option of all.

Agreed. He is very smart - and dangerous

If by smart you mean "cult leader crackpot."

With Ted Cruz and Rubio coming out big, this marks an odd time in our nation. After the first black president we now have 2 Hispanics on the GOP ticket making moves. Now I can run in 2020 and be the leader you all deserve!

BOOTIES, CALZONES, AND GRIIIIINCH IN EVERY HOME!!!

Honestly, yup. Idealistically, he's not that much different from Trump, but he has the political experience and knowledge to actually make stuff happen, whereas Trump is just a cartoon character, spouting off all this unrealistic crazy shit he wants to do and his only plan is, "I'm Donald Trump, I'll make it happen." Cruz, on the other hand, might actually be dangerous.

I still think the Republican candidate will be Rubio. The GOP party hates both Trump and Cruz. Last night, Rubio proved he's viable. Even though Cruz won, Rubio coming out of nowhere to damn near take 2nd place from Trump was the big story. I think they'll all jump on the Rubio train now and push him as the viable candidate.

The kids on reddit are shitting themselves about Bernie not winning but I think a tie with Clinton is a win. Dude started from the bottom (now he's here).

538 was predicting there was a good chance he'd win Iowa and New Hampshire and nothing else, as far back as July last year, as they're the two states that demographically he would do the best in and his campaign has been super heavily focused on the two states.  He needed a lot bigger of a win to generate momentum that would help him out in states where he doesn't have as good of demographics.

Absolutely. Especially considering where he came from just a few months ago. Hillary was untouchable. Bernie was polling waaaaaaaaay lower than her. Fast forward a few months and she was lucky to beat the grassroots candidate (if she even did. It's still being tallied.)

Bernie proved himself viable and proved that Hillary is beatable within her own party. He's going to have a shit ton of momentum while people are going to be questioning Hillary's chances now.

I still think Hillary is going to win the nomination. But it's not the absolute certainty I thought it was just a couple months ago.

Trump will destroy both those fools in New Hampshire.. still, Rubios speech was smart, he's creating a surging, inspiring run that appeals to younger voters..

still wont be enough.

Rand Paul quit.

Booooooo.

Rand Paul is the only one on the conservative side I actually somewhat liked. I don't agree with him about some things, but he was by far the sanest and most rational person running for the Republican nomination. Honestly would have likely voted for him over Hillary.
