Good to see the Sox blow an 8-1 lead

This team needs an overhaul of new managers. Start with firing John Farrell.

Guess I'm going to watch Golf from now on

Nothing makes me more happy than seeing Farrell and the Sox lose. How do you lose a game up 8-1 in the 5th?? Jays on a roll. If they had literally any pitching at all this team would run away with the division.

Team is a joke. If it wasn't for Wade Miley flipping out on Farrel on national television his ass would be gone by now.

I'd also toss in Zack Grienke and at least this year so far Shelby Miller if we're counting just NL. Both have similar ERAs, and slightly better peripherals.

In the AL, Sonny Gray, Chris Archer and Dallas Keuchel are dominant as hell this season too.

Greinke yes he should be included but 1/3 of a season does not a stud make for the rest of em

1/3rd for Sonny Gray, Chris Archer, and Dallas Keuchel? All three have been solid for longer than a third of the season. Actually, all three techinically had better numbers than Cole last year too.

Not taking anything away from Cole, he's a stud. Just saying that's not a good reason to dismiss Gray, Archer, and Keuchel.

Shelby Miller though, I'll agree with, even though 2 years ago, his numbers were pretty comparable to Cole's past numbers.

So speaking of Pete Rose...

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/1...cid=espnTW

Not like it was very likely anyway, but pretty sure this seals the deal on him never getting into the HOF now. Betting on games as a player (and on his own team) is the one thing he has always sworn he never did, even in his book, and now that's proven false too.

Ty Cobb fixed games and he's in. Rose should be too.

Or you could argue that neither of them deserve to be in based on the fact that Ty Cobb is a terrible example to compare anyone to, considering he's the most notorious piece of shit of a human to ever play baseball.

Rose's actions didn't effect the outcomes of games, however.

I mean, that's never really been definitively proven. He bet on a lot of games as both a player and a manager, which put him in a position to affect the outcome of lots of his team's games. Just because they've never proven that it did doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I could probably get on board with him being inducted if he didn't continue to prove himself to be a liar. Thirty years later, we're still finding out things he's been lying about all this time, even when he "finally came clean" in his book 10 years ago.

He's one of the greatest of all time, but yanno....so is Chris Benoit.

But I see your point. To this day, I'm convinced that Michael Jordan's baseball "retirement" in the 90s was a secret year-long suspension for gambling. And can you imagine a basketball Hall of Fame without Michael Jordan?

It's messy and I see both sides.

Angels are finally becoming fun to watch this season. I really hope Trout and Pujols continue their back and forth HR competition for the year. Both are tied for the AL lead with 26 HRs right now and Angels as a team are only 0.5 game back in the division.

Would be nice to see if they could both reach the 40 HR mark. The Angels somehow have only had 1 player ever hit 40+ HRs, which was Troy Glaus (did it twice). Would be cool to finally add to that.

What did everyone think of the new HRD format?

I thought it was pretty awesome. I think it went a lot better than even MLB hoped it would. The 4:00 minute rounds seems like a sweet spot, don't think they should go with the originally intended 5:00 minute.

Faster pace, more home-runs hit, and no more watching over half of the pitches being taken waiting for a better pitch.

Also, more urgency with each hitter having them each go head-to-head. It all went surprisingly well.
