RE: #NoKings Tour
Breaking it down like that is really dumb Payne. it is all rap music, Is some of it better than the others? Definitely. music is getting way too fucking compartmentalized and it annoys the fuck out of me. Rap music is tap music. and I have seen Dessa do spoken word once in the 4 times I have seen her solo.
But seriously, the breaking down of music to super specific sub-genres just bothers me.

^^
To a certain extent, it makes sense because music differs depending on what part of the world it comes from. But sub-genres, especially when it comes to metal, are getting fucking retarded.

RE: #NoKings Tour
I don't find it dumb, for my self satisfactory, by doing this, I will never lump Weezy with Doomtree when I go to genre Hip-Hop on my ipod and hit shuffle! And I guess is what I was meaning Commercial and underground. Commercial rap sucks usually while the "underground"guys are still hungry and have shit to prove...which makes for better albums and shows!

RE: #NoKings Tour
The whole idea of "Commercial" vs "Underground" as a "Good" vs "Bad" thing is lame no matter the genre. Good music is good music, who cares who makes it, or what genre you want to push it into.

RE: #NoKings Tour
No doubt man, but when I can't stand a single thing on the radio IDGAF what people say, I wasn't stating Underground>Commercial, just said commercial rap is usually way worse. The people who aren't on big ass labels and nationwide sponsored tours should and usually do work alot harder at their shows and produce a better quality of music! Peep that key word, USUALLY.
Bottom line: I don't really like bubblegum flashy rap. If Weezy made a good song, damn right i'ma listen to it! Just the fact he hasn't imho. When I was younger I dug KMK and Tech cause they were all about weed and patrying, same reason I dug alot of other shit. Now that I smoke occasionally and just do some pills well over 75% of those songs are stupid. Same with half of the other commercial rap I liked. Basically I could listen to Doomtree in 5 years and be just as into it the day I started, on the other hand I could not do that to damn near anything on rap/hip-hop stations.

I haven't listened to a hip hop radio station in ten years or so, and the last commercial album I enjoyed was Ludacris' Word of Mouf. That being said, I haven't checked out much new underground stuff either (aside from the occasional video that gets posted here) so I don't know who any of these guys are that you're talking about.

RE: #NoKings Tour
Only flashy people I nodded was Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, Tech and Kottonmouth Kings were related cause I was more referring to the longevity of artists and not really the "Here and Now" My dislike for the commercial shit is just that. Not the fact it's on the radio, the fact it's BEEN ON the radio forever and played the fuck out, or just a catchy song til it's annoying. Honestly there's thousands of "underground" rappers that just think they're gangsta and do commercial rap, so it wasn't a stab at radio or popularity vs underground.

RE: #NoKings Tour
Well that's part of your problem, listening to the radio...
my antenna busted on my car over a year ago, so when I'm listening in my car it's always podcasts/iPod music... I haven't listened to anything on the radio, aside from riding with my girl while she's driving, in well over a year.

RE: #NoKings Tour
Well when i'm in a car with my girl and her gay brother, I lose everytime bro! I know more lyrics to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry songs than ANY man should. I just roll with the punches cause I seriously play the fuck out of music when i'm into it. Irish Goodbye hasn't left the CD player since it dropped, was tough even giving the new Doomtree a listen, actually...i've only got to Beacon and quit Bangarang is my m'f'ing jam though! Mictlan's hook is on fire and so on point! Also, GREAT fucking verses from all of them. Cecil, POS, and Sims fuckin' killed it!
