Sitting here killing time, and I got to thinking....with Chris mentioning Mr Perfect, I was wondering who the best wrestlers to never win a world title were. So, here is a list that I've researched, with MY opinion of the Top 5.


5. Ted Diabiase

While he had the "Million Dollar Title" this HOFer never cashed in on the WWE Strap....


4. Roddy Piper

With Pipers Pit, and how great this man was on the mic, he could wrestle too. Never won the title.....


3. Owen Hart


While had he lived, he probably would have won MULTIPLE world titles, but it just didn't happen...


2. Razor Ramon (Scott Hall)

As over as he was in th 90's, Razor NEVER won a world title. He was 578497895672536895768957869057689067890678490 time IC Champ, but never reached the next level.


1. Mr. Perfect

It astounds me that he never won a WWE Title, but he left before the "New WWF Generation" where Vince finally started putting over smaller guys.



I'm open to anyone elses opinion on the subject, but these are the way I would rate em.

That list is insane.

Although if you want to get technical about it, Dibiase WAS briefly world champion when he bought the belt from Andre, leading to the WM4 tournament.

I kinda disagree about Owen but its a mute point since we will never know.

I agree to this. When he was a live I wasn't a fan. What was his blue masked characters name?

That's the thing, as a kid I NEVER heard anyone say they were an Owen Hart fan. Of course that was ages ago so my memory is blurred. I really think he gets more credit because he died in the ring. Owen reminds me of a Dean Malenko type. Good wrestler but never would have made it huge.

oh man i was watching WWE vintage and they were talking about Dean Malenko and Saturn and all those guys. it brought back memories from when I was a kid. I didn't know anyone that liked Owen Hart back in the day.
I agree they know how to wrestle but they didn't have a personality.

I liked Owen as a kid *shrug*. I always liked the heels & the Hart vs. Hart feud was great.

its too bad scott hall didnt get a run and all, and he probably deserved one with how smart he was and all that, but its probably for the best because 9 times out of 10 he'd be blasted out of his mind on all sorts of different shit. Who knows if he woulda been champ and gotten busted with pills or coke or some shit and that hit the news RVD style. And he might as well of been WCW champ since that belt didnt mean much anyways.

I coulda swore Piper won big gold in WCW from Hogan with a Gah dang sleeper hold.

Other greats to have never won/provably never will:

Arn Anderson, always around Flair but never won

Kofi Kingston, nigga was HOOOOOT with the Legacy storyline

Dean Malenko, would have loved to see Malenko take on Benoit at some point

I also can't ever remember hearing anyone say man I can't wait to see owen wrestle

After Montreal happened, there was pretty much no chance Owen was ever going to be more than midcard. He was riding out his contract at that point.

But prior to that? Hell, he was main eventing shows with Bret and they had one of the best matches every at WM10.

I think if things had been different for the Hart family in WWE, then yeah, Owen could have and should have been a world champion. In the ring, he was a better wrestler than Bret, I thought. And he definitely had more charisma. His career wasn't as long or successful, but if you put them side by side, I think Owen was the better of the two.

Shamrock is a stretch.

hacksaw was awesome but also a stretch. that dude was always on Sunday Afternoon WCW.

I liked Shamrock and thought he had the believability to be champ but after researching who won world titles during his run I'll retract him from the list. For the record here's the champs during Shamrocks WWF run: Taker-Hart-HBK-SCSA-Kane-SCSA-Rock-Foley-Rock-Foley-Rock-SCSA-Taker-SCSA-Foley-HHH.

Rick Rude was champion in WCW international champion if I recall.

I think the subject was changed to WWE champ thus me mentioning Lugar.

Shit, if we're talking WWF/E Champion only then we need to add: Vader (best big man ever IMO), Harley Race & Dusty Rhodes. I'm sure there's more, that's just off the top of my head.

How bout that Braden Walker...
