Official calling into work and going to Raw Thread
Tomorrow is my birthday, I didn't sleep last night, and I could use a day off so I decided to go to this last minute.

I spent 15 minutes with the guy on ticketmaster trying to get a decent seat. I really didn't want to do floor since my last few floor experiences have been pretty much shit (including 1st row). So I went with Lower Level on the hard camera side. I haven't been to a WWE show in about 3 years so I look forward to it :D ...I just hope it is better than last weeks (which I skipped through most of).

I'm off to bed now!

Happy Birthday buddy!

Just curious, why were your last several floor experiences bad? I usually sit floor and have a blast.

RE: Official calling into work and going to Raw Thread
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Will, several times I have gotten front row but it turned out to be on the very edge of the section so the viewing angle was crap. Also, security take themselves too seriously.

I didn't know about the show until after the tickets had gone on sale and by then, most of the good floor seats had been taken or were being scalped in pairs. Unfortunately, I don't have any wrestling buddies (NPI) to join me and selling one ticket can be very difficult. Also, my girl wouldn't mind going but she has work and homework to do so pulling her out of those and paying an extra $100+ on floor tickets didn't seem right.

My other negative floor experience was from like 7 rows back and even though I was closer to the center of my section, the viewing angle was shit; the action in the ring becomes difficult to see. Honestly, i f your not within the first 2-3 rows, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Last but not least, I have watched a shit ton of wrestling over the years. I do mean a lot. Hell, I used to watch WM12 iron man match before school in the morning. Weekends were spent watching Power Hour, Challenge, All-American, Mania, Superstars, Super Astros, Saturday Night, The Main Event, Shotgun, Heat, etc. The point being, it is painful these days how much WWE plays towards the hard camera and not the whole crowd...and that Is especially noticeable in todays promo-heavy productions. So for those reasons, I absolutely prefer to sit on the side of the hard camera even if it means being further back.

RE: Official calling into work and going to Raw Thread
Fair enough.

I won't go too far back on the floor myself not only because I'm shorter than the average male but every single time I have done it I ALWAYS get stuck with some douchebag a seat or 2 down from me that insists on running out into the isle to take pictures. It's like they have no arms and just can't lift their camera high in the air and no matter what they do it is not digitally possible to capture a good photo being 7-10 rows back from the ring even with the zoom option. If you're on the end of the row and you wanna step out into the isle for a brief second to snap a picture because the kids in front of you can't sit on their seats, ok but making it like a bathroom break is just idiotic and annoying.

I think we can all agree that the one thing we hate most about wrestling is wrestling fans.

happy birthday mang!

i totally agree about live shows not being super exciting if you arent sitting in the hard camera section. luckily the past two times ive gone we sat in the section behind the announcers so the camera was for sure to pan over at least once.

I've never wanted to sit floor for those very reasons. It just seems like if it's not the very front, why the fuck do I want to. I almost always sit in the same area, directly across from the hard camera side on the other side of the ring, lower level. It's always been an enjoyable experience.

i've done floor twice, 5th row and 8th row. i'll never do floor again unless it's first 2 rows. anything from peoples height or someone holding a sign, and you can't see shit.

i think the miz is tapped out and getting stale quick. I dont see him in the main event picture very much longer. if anything they should write him off for awhile and have him return as a face or something to pump some life back into his charecter.

That's what Vince is best for

Unless it's someone named John Cena or Randy Orton, once a mid-carder drastically rises to the top expect them to fall quicker than they got there

RE: Official calling into work and going to Raw Thread
My notes from tonight:

-Good lord do I hate wrestling fans.

-Like I said, my seat was awesome. I was right next to the production crew seemed like a lot of fun. Apparently some stupid wrestling fan got into the talent parking lot (they dont have a garage) and pissed all over one of the busses.

-Really annoying black people around me, two well behaved ones right next to me. One trash dude in the front row spent the whole night trying to get himself over. He would shout out the most random shit and sometimes it would be funny...other times not so much. He virtually attacked Jerry Lawler from behind when Jerry tried to leave through the crowd. The guy put his arm around Lawler's neck and shoulders and walked with him and Jerry looked confused, pissed, and WTFish. I made eye contact with Brooklyn Brawler. That was a weird moment.

-Superstars had Mayson Ryan botch several moves with Jack Thwaggar. I got a semi watching Vicky's side boob jiggle while she clapped. More confetti fell during this match.

-No big Pyro to start out the show. I kept waiting for it and looked around to see why it didn't go off only to realize all the wrestlers were in the ring. So no Sal, they didn't make their own entrances.

-The arena is tiny and they were nowhere near a sellout. It looked to be 80% filled with the available seats. However, huge sections were tarped off and blacked out. I know this is a normal practice but like I said, the arena was small and they tarped off sections that just about anyone else would have sold SOME seating for.

-Biggest pop of the night was for HBK.

-Everyone laughed at Big Show's botch and laughed even harder (in my section) at Ryder flying off the ramp in the wheel chair.

-Miz/Punk match was uninspired and just seemed to go through the motions. Dark match was Punk vs. Dolph and it was mostly the same. However, through out the entire night, Punk was entertaining as fuck when the camera wasn't on him. He was doing all sorts of goofy shit during the debate and had a lot of fun with the crowd after the show, celebrating with the audience and whatnot. He even got on the mic and had the crowd do the "Woo Woo Woo" in memory of Zack Ryder as he looked into the rafters all teary-eyed and said "I'll miss ya buddy."

Overall the show was okay. I had a better time enjoying watching the behind the scenes stuff and some of the up and comers. I will post pics tomorrow but my camera was having issues with its focus and the WWE lighting. My cell phone came in handy but has slow response time. One last entertaining thing (for me). One of the production assistants tore up his script for the night and threw it on the ground. I grabbed it at the end of the show and am piecing it back together. I am a little let down as it only seems to have match order, wrestlers and referees. However, it does show who produced the segments - Arn, Dean Malenko, and Dustin Rhodes are the names I have seen thus far.

I agree about the Miz. I think he needs a world title run over on Smackdown.
