So the clip you just posted has special meaning to me.

It was around this time that I first started to get into wrestling (I started at age 5 and was 6 when that aired). I was in the living room watching that with my Dad and I was seriously concerned. Not too concerned since I was more of a Hogan fan but Undertaker was scary back then and darn it, the Ultimate Warrior was a good guy! Anyway, my Dad revealed to me that wrestling was fake.

Now my Dad was the type of guy to make stuff up just to screw with kids. He once had me in tears after he faked a 9-1-1 call and convinced me the police were on their way to arrest me for playing with the heat dial on my parents water bed. So you can understand me being reluctant to believe him. Ultimately I called him a liar and waited for Mom to get home to tell me that wrestling was real. Sadly she died in a car wreck on the way home and to this day I believe wrestling is real.

Actually, she came home and confirmed what my Dad had said as being true. It was stunning news and from that point on, I was memorized and intrigued by these magicians of the mat and so badly wanted to know how they pulled it off.

I believe this to be the genesis of my obsession with professional wrestling.

I didn't start watching wrestling until I was 13, and I thought it was real for a little bit, but not too long. Dunno exactly when I figured it out, or what made me realize.

I was aware of wrestling as a small child, but I didn't really get into it until about 95 to early 96. Right at the perfect time, I remember my best friend at the time and I started freaking out when Hall/Nash showed up in WCW.

Wow, I forgot how totally insane that Boss Man/Big Show feud was.

thats about it for me too, phenom. Diesel and Razor left the E and showed up on Nitro i was like WTF. I remember being a big Bill Kazmier fan when he was there (look it up) because he was doing these feats of strength where he would bend iron bars and shit. And then he teamed up with Rick Steiner I think. And then all during the early 90s when Ron Simmons won the world title and Vader was being bad ass and Sting and Nikita Koloff were having Russian chain matches and shit. But probably my favorite early WCW stuff was when Sting was receiving those mysterious gift boxes. One of them was Abdullah, one was Foley, etc. and the final one ended up being Lex Lugar, turning heel on Sting. I was such a mark for that shit. Sting vs. Rick Rude, Sting and Jake Roberts, etc. etc.

Then the NWO shit happened. Of course, I loved it too, but I was always a WWF guy. Nitro would come on an hour before Raw and so I would always watch the first hour of Nitro and then switch over to Raw. From there, I just jumped back and forth. I'd check Nitro during Raw's commercials or if WWF had a stupid Brian Christopher match on or something, I'd watch Nitro. But for the most part, I watched WWF and caught WCW during the commercials.

Fuck yes! Here's the final "gift" to Sting, where Luger attacks. Injures the knee, which then leads into the best come back ever, when Sting limps back to fight Rick Rude. That crowd was going nuclear during the countdown.

I was always a WWF guy. I started watching wrestling around 1989 or so. I was a Steiner Brothers, LOD, Rockers mark. Tag teams were my thing. I liked Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, watched the first WWF Raw with my grandpa.
But I also started watching WCW around the same time. I like Vader, Ron Simmons, Luger, Sting, Flair, Arn, Cactus Jack, Rick Rude. Never liked Hogan. I liked Macho Man.

Then the nWo/DX shit happened. Of course, I loved it too, but I was always a WWF guy. Nitro would come on an hour before Raw and so I would always set the VCR watch the first hour of Nitro and then switch over to Raw. From there I'd watch a total of about 5hrs of wrestling. I'd check Nitro during Raw's commercials or if WWF had a stupid Brian Christopher match on or something, I'd watch Nitro. But for the most part, I watched WWF and caught WCW afterwards.

I don't disagree that WCW made Vince what WWE is today as a company. WCW was hemorrhaging money and gave out a big card for free. Hogan vs Goldberg should have been a PPV. Coulda, woulda, shoulda killed WCW.

I remember watching Nitro when Boney Schiavone gave away the leader of the Ministry. I looked at my grandpa and he goes "pfft, why would they tell you that?"

I started watching a little before you guys. My first memory of watching wrestling was getting up at like 4 or 5 in the morning to watch the first Survivor Series my parents taped for me the night before, since I guess my family didn't wanna watch it live during Thanksgiving dinner. That was in 87, so I just turned 4 and have pretty much been watching ever since. My parents had a cheater box so I got all the ppvs. I mostly watched WWF and didn't even really know about WCW until right after the NWO started, since Razor/Diesel were my favs at the time. Then I started watching both, mostly favoring WCW cause I liked their roster more. I finally discovered ECW in either 98 or 99 so that sucked I didn't get into it until they were almost done. So growing up I had vhs tapes of pretty much every wwf ppv from 87-03 when I moved out. Now over the past couple years I didn't get an account for xwt/pwt and haven't downloaded every single ppv from the first Starrcade up to last year, including TNA for some reason, and burned them all to dvd. So I'm pretty much set for life now, or not *wink wink nudge nudge.

I was really into wrestling as a kid, but lost interest in the late 80's. Then when Hogan turning heel made national news I tuned in to see. Then I became hooked again.

I loved the rare occasions when Nitro would replay after Raw. I'd stay up late as hell watching it and then be tired as fuck the next morning at school.
