You can get furniture from the same guy who sells the house in the first place.

It didn't take me long at all to get enough money to buy a house. I had 5k by the time I reached 10 hours in game, which in the grand scheme of it isn't terribly long.

RE: Skyrim
So speaking of money, anyone found a good merchant to unload expensive stuff on? I've got a chest full of crap in my house that I can't really sell...probably well over 10k worth of shit. Dragon bones / scales, staffs, special armor (most of which is at least 2k a piece)...I NEEDS A BETTER MERCHANT.

I'm still doing quests in Whiterun by the way, 12 hours in LOL

Good point. I am just now beginning the very first Companions quest in Whiterun, haven't even seen or heard mention of other guilds. Well, people talked about the Mage's College but no more than that.

Easy way to kill Giants and Mammoths around Whiterun I discovered. Go to the Giant camp around Whiterun and lure them into chasing you, run into the watchtower (Where you fought the first dragon) They cannot fit in the door you can stand in the doorway and just destroy them.

I wish the game had directX 10/11 support. They said they were coming out with a patch, and some of this lost performance is inexcusable (especially when my card eats whatever is thrown at it, spits it back out, and stomps on it. HD 6870)

Otherwise, though, the game is terrific, and I've sunken almost 40 hours into it. I appear to have lost some weight as well.

I came to realize that I don't smith enough. I enchanted a dwarven dagger (renamed it The Dildagger), and can't upgrade it any further because I don't have the perk that allows me to upgrade magical items. My alchemy level is through the goddamn roof though.

Deathbell + salt pile = slow potion

They aren't shit when you don't have to worry about them charging you.

All PC players have to check this out!

Kotaku did a little write up on mods that enhance the visuals.

I will now forever be spoiled by these mods and can never look back.

RE: Skyrim
As far as the cheat menu for the console, pass, untill my second play through though FOV 85 is AWESOME. I've also installed some mods from the Skyrim section of curse.com. The lock pick health meter makes me creamy and the barbie doll nude mod for chicks makes a lot of the clothing the women wear more believable as it removes the bandage-bra-thing and is more in line with how women would actually appear in such a time period. The loading screen time mod is awesome too.

The 8800GTS trick that worked in Oblivion works in Skyrim. I have yet to actually try it, but I guess it works great.

RE: Skyrim
Here's a funny way to learn skills fast and cheap (free).

Go to an NPC that's a companion for you. Ask them to teach you their skill

Ex. Vilkas from The Companions teaches 2H weapons.

Learn as much as you can for that level, which is a max of 5 skill points.

Talk to the companion again and ask to trade.

Take back all the gold you spent to learn the skills.

BAM! Free skill leveling.

You might have to dismiss your current companion and tell them to go home, while adding the NPC with the skills you want to your party.

Found out you can forge the atronach summoning spell tomes in the midden at the College of Winterhold if you've got the right items. They're pretty decent if you're going the conjurer's route.

That secret dev cave was too much for me not to check out. I wanted to TAKE ALL THE THINGS! But I'm still on my first play through and I vowed I wouldn't, so I begrudgingly ported back all the way to Whiterun. Then sadness enveloped me.
