RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-10-2017

Lol. Take Lebron off the Cavs and they don't win anything.

Take Mj off the Bulls and they don't win anything.

Take Sid off the Pens and they don't win 3 Cups.

Call e a homer but that's how I see it.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-10-2017

I wouldn't disagree with any of that but I'm just saying that history shows the Dubs never beat Lebron in a series with a healthy Kyrie/Love which is the whole reason they had to recruit KD in the first place.

Bottom line: Lebron is too old to rinse and repeat with having to kickstart yet another Franchise. I don't really see a better scenario for him. Lakers still a few years away from competing, nobody knows which direction the Clippers are heading, Spurs might be good on paper but they have the same issues the Cavs do where they are so far over the Luxury Tax its gonna take a major trade to get anyone or to be able to afford him and the same thing for the Celtics. Minnesota MAYBE would be a destination but even that's a long shot. Cavs still have their best talent under contract and they bulked up their bench a little with Jeff Green. If Melo gets bought out and lands in Cle I think its a wrap they become the favorites but we'll see.

Hold on Opiti, I TOTALLY wanna hear where KD plays in this alternate reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So where at bro?!?! DOES HE EVEN EXIST?!?!?!? Please leave a detailed response cuz I really feel like he's a Piston and we made it to the second round in this scenario!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - bj0rn - 07-19-2017

just threw 500 on fultz+1000 to win ROY. 10/1 seems silly to me. i have some dennis smith jr +1500 also. hes now +300. the secret is out on him i guess (cant believe the knicks passed on him... just kidding completely believe it}

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-19-2017

I'm gonna laugh if Lonzo is a bust. Dude has way too much hype that really isn't warranted.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-19-2017

He won't be a bust. He won't be a superstar

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-19-2017

According to all the "experts", that's what will sell Lebron on going to La. Cuz yanno..he's gonna be light years above Kyrie and all.

Nah, him George an entire Westbrook all go to LA to fuck up the W's. Would be fucking amazing.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Fro - 07-20-2017

Hahaha, I don't even member posting the KD alternate universe shit. I crack me the fucc up fam!!!

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-21-2017

Kyrie has requested a trade, obviously doesn't mean it will happen but probably the first step in Lebron leaving

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-21-2017

Lols @ Kyrie

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-21-2017

Fuckin crybaby. The entire team for that matter

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-21-2017

Oh snap I didn't put 2+2 together. If Kyrie were to leave Leaveland, the Celtics are the favorite to win the East.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-22-2017

Depends on who Cleveland got in return. Kyrie wont come cheap if he does go.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-22-2017

Kyrie is easily a top 20 player in the league. Good luck finding a replacement. I'll just take in this early East victory fam

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-22-2017

I dont think he gets traded for a while. Not really anything out there worth trading for; especially for which teams he prefers to go to.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-22-2017

Put it this way, the damage is already done. No wonder why Butler didn't go to the Cavs since Kyrie was telling other players not to come there.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-22-2017

Yeah and he's a fucking idiot. I would understand if the Cavs were a 4th seed that didnt win the East or better yet hadn't won it all last year but going into the 4th year of what could be Lebron's final year knowing they most likely are going back to the Finals and could be maybe 1 piece away from evening things up with Golden State if say Melo gets bought out out maybe Wade gets bought out and he pulls this shit?! Just mind boggling. He's a great player but this is a red flag regarding his character. He's playing next to arguably the best player on the planet whom just about anyone in the NBA would kill to have as a teammate but now he wants to sprout an ego in an offseason where there's already enough turmoil? Just flat out stupid.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-23-2017

You can't put all the blame on Kyrie. Kyrie told his teammates and upper management that he didn't want to play there anymore, totally avoiding LeBron on both occasions. LeBron barked off when the season ended that the Cavs didn't make enough moves on the off season. As far as I'm concerned the Cavs had the worst off season that I can recall.

Anyways, the Celtics can easily take that East win tbh

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-23-2017

On the flip side, what exactly were the Cavs suppose to do? Griff wanted too much money for what he was worth, they are way too far over the cap to outright sign anyone for more than the vet min, they don't have any real attractive pieces to trade, no draft picks, Bron keeping his future a secret has everyone up in arms, they still haven't named their GM and camp literally just started 2 weeks ago..what are they really suppose to do? Kyrie wanting out is one thing but he picked the absolute worst time to drop this. They could have dealt him to the Clips for Chris Paul and picks in a 3 way trade which would have at least appealed to Lebron. Instead, he waits to air his laundry when there really is no trade out there valuable enough.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Chaos - 07-23-2017

So where does Kyrie want to play now then? At this moment there really isn't any other team out there besides the Warriors that would be a more desirable situation, unless LeBron treats him like shit behind the scenes and he really hates his guts I can't understand why he would want to leave. They won a championship only 2 seasons ago for fucks sake.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-23-2017

Minny would make the most sense but they wont get him without giving up Butler or Karl Anthony-Towns.

Spurs baby!!!

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-23-2017

Spurs won't get him without giving up Kawhi. Not gonna happen.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Brulos - 07-23-2017

He can go to Detroit to team up with me and Justice Young!

Oh wait this is real life and not 2k17

Lol at Kawhi, 100x the player Kyrie is.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-23-2017

Debatable. I still consider Kyrie above Kawhi but it's by a small margin.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-23-2017

You're for real??

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-23-2017

Yup. I'd put Kawhi about 2-3 spots behind Kyrie. I'm not taking anything away from Kawhi, consider him an amazing player. The stats between the two are completely different but that's my personal opinion. Give Kawahi another 1-2 years before I can compare the two. He's been getting better every year.

On a related note, Kyrie had 4 teams in mind. Knicks, Timberwolves, Spurs and another team that I can't remember. The Knicks trade makes the most sense. Kyrie goes to the Knicks and the Cavs receive Rose. Not sure what role he'd play on the team but it made the most sense.
