RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 06-27-2017

Celtics in talks with trying to land George an Hayward. Griffin also thrown into the mix.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 06-27-2017

I think Boston's best chance was on draft day. Ainge could have also given Chicago a better deal for Jimmy Butler than Minny did. C's best bet at this point would be Blake.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - bj0rn - 06-27-2017

celtics gain leverage the longer they wait to trade for pg

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 06-27-2017

They could sign Griffin since he wants a pay cut and it would be under the luxury tax. If they sign all three my wig would get flipped back.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - bj0rn - 06-27-2017

i would not want blake

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 06-27-2017

Sort of agree but he's still a top player in the league. The only thing I'd be worried about is the injuries. If they were able to scoop up Griffin for a low price I'd be for it, as long as PG and Hayward we're in on the mix. I think Griffin alone is something I wouldn't invest in.

Meh.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Peezy - 06-28-2017

Chris Paul traded to the Rockets.

R.I.P. Clippers

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 06-28-2017

I like that trade actually

CP3 will make Houston better but on the flipside Clips get a solid 2-way PG, good scoring off the bench with Lou Williams, a nice project with Dekker and a draft pick. Can't really beat that for a guy who was on his way out the door by Sunday no matter what. Only question now is what the Clips do with Jamal Crawford.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - bj0rn - 06-28-2017

I have no idea how this harden + cp3 backcourt is going to work. They both need the ball in hand to be effective. Should be interesting

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 06-28-2017

I had the same question too. I'm not sure if I can really see Harden differing to CP3 the way he should in order for them to be effective.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Foolish Madman - 06-29-2017

That Pat Beverley revenge game in Houston is gonna leave the arena in shambles. I can't wait to be there.

PG13 TRADED TO OKC

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - bj0rn - 06-30-2017

Bros might head is about to explode. What is Ainge (not) doing

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 06-30-2017

Waiting for Lebron to either get old or leave Cleveland again

Not surprised at all. Another blown opportunity.

Griffin wants to make a trade quick and the Celtics aren't in his radar. The only hope now is Hayward.

Steph Curry agrees to supermax 5 year $201 million dollar deal to stay a Warrior.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-04-2017

Hayward to Celtics

This is great fam

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Peezy - 07-05-2017

Warriors just signed Nick Young. Jesus Christ man, this is absurd.

LOL

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-07-2017

Not that I dont like the Hayward to Celts move but they've now lost Bradley, Olynyk and Smart may be next. Getting an Allstar is nice but those are some valuable depth pieces they've lost. Horford had better learn how to turn it on in the postseason if they wanna get over the Cavs.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Mudkips - 07-07-2017

Pistons clearly got the better player. I actually really like Bradley but he was too injury prone. Also his defensive skills were a little overrated at times. Olynyk I have no problem moving on from. He's atrocious in the paint and his shooting wasn't any better. I just hope they keep Smart and Crowder since they have the money now to pay Hayward.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-08-2017

228 mil for Harden

I dread to think what the Cavs are gonna have to give Lebron next season

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-09-2017

Nothing cause....

He gone

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-09-2017

LOL

You and the media would love that wouldn't you?

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Opitiplex - 07-09-2017

If he wants to win he'll go. My question is how long does his body hold up? He's 32. Playing the minutes he does when his body goes, it's going fast.

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-09-2017

So..the team thats been to 3 straight Finals and most likely a 4th is not a winning situation? Put a healthy Kyrie/Love in the lineup 2 years ago, subtract KD from this year's GS lineup and the Cavs are arguably 3x champs.

There isnt a situation or a team out there that will "guarantee" him anything unless by some miracle he joins the Dubs. He's gonna continue to log heavy minutes too. No change of team will change that because he's the most effective player on the planet arguably. Its funny how the Cavs lose a Finals against 4 Olympians in their primes and suddenly the sky falls. 30 other teams in the league would love to have the Cavs problems.

He isnt going anywhere unless there's a complete meltdown in management and he just wants to get away from Dan Gilbert.

You
Just said it. He hates Gilbert.

Also, "if the W's didn't have Durant? "

Wtf the kind of logic is that??

RE: 2016-2017 NBA Thread - Obsidian - 07-10-2017

Simple logic. KD averaged something like 34 ppg in the Finals. Take him away from this year's GS team and I think Cavs would have won. Call me homer but thats how I see it.
